Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Your Questions About Personalized Care, Hormone Health, Longevity Medicine, and More

Membership and Adult Primary Care Questions

Do you accept insurance?

No. Dr. Mueller’s clinic operates outside of insurance to provide longer visits, direct access, personalized care, and a focus on prevention and root-cause healing. However, many patients use HSA or FSA funds for certain services and testing.

How does the membership work?

The Longevity Membership is $500 per month with no contract. It includes unlimited office visits, direct communication with Dr. Mueller, personalized health planning, and discounted rates on labs and supplements.

Can I start with a standalone service and decide later?

Absolutely. Many patients begin with a standalone consultation or service, and then choose whether to continue with membership based on their needs and goals.

What’s the difference between membership and standalone services?

Membership provides ongoing, unlimited access and full health optimization support. Standalone services are for patients who want focused help with a specific issue or who prefer a pay-as-you-go model.

Longevity Medicine & Functional Medicine Questions

What is Longevity Medicine?

Longevity Medicine focuses on optimizing your healthspan — the number of years you live in good health — through proactive screenings, lifestyle strategies, and personalized prevention planning. It’s about staying stronger, sharper, and more active longer.

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional Medicine looks at the whole body to find the root causes of symptoms — not just treating surface issues. It uses advanced testing and personalized protocols to address hormonal shifts, inflammation, gut health, nutrient deficiencies, and more.

How is your approach different from a traditional doctor?

Dr. Mueller takes the time to connect the dots across all your health systems. Instead of rushing through 10-minute visits, she focuses on root causes, personalized data, lifestyle medicine, and true prevention — not just managing disease.

Hormone Optimization Questions

Do you offer hormone therapy for both men and women?

Yes. Dr. Mueller provides personalized hormone optimization for women experiencing perimenopause or menopause, and for men managing low testosterone, adrenal fatigue, and metabolic shifts.

Are bio-identical hormones safe?

Bio-identical hormones, when prescribed and monitored correctly, can be a safe and effective option for symptom relief and long-term wellness. Dr. Mueller uses lab-based dosing and regular follow-up to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Will hormone therapy affect fertility?

In some cases, testosterone therapy can impact fertility. Dr. Mueller discusses all options thoroughly and tailors treatment based on each patient’s personal and family goals.

Testing & Diagnostics Questions

What is a DEXA scan?

A DEXA scan measures body composition — including fat mass, lean muscle mass, and bone density — giving a more detailed picture of your health than a basic scale or BMI calculation.

What is a VO2 Max test?

VO2 Max testing measures your body’s ability to use oxygen during exercise. It’s a key marker for cardiovascular fitness, aerobic capacity, and even long-term health and longevity.

How often should I repeat these tests?

Most patients benefit from annual DEXA and VO2 Max testing to track fitness, body composition, and risk factors. Dr. Mueller personalizes timing based on your health goals and changes.
