
Traditionally used for bone density, with the right software, it can also tell us body composition such as percent body fat and muscle. Using the BMI (body mass index) is a great rough estimate but does not give near as much info as body composition. This can be used routinely through the process of weight management or maybe just get it done yearly to monitor your health.
Instructions: Avoid any clothing with metal such as zippers, snaps, etc. They cannot be worn during a DEXA Scan. We can provide a gown if needed.
DEXA Scans are not for you if:
Historically only used in elite athletes, this has now become more available so everyone can measure their aerobic capacity. The better your aerobic capacity, the more likely you are to live longer. This can be repeated as needed to monitor improvement with a new exercise regime or done yearly to monitor your aerobic health.
Instructions: Do not eat anything heavy for 3 hours prior to testing. Dress in comfortable clothes and wear running/tennis shoes.
VO2 Max Testing is not for you if:


A Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) test measures how many calories your body burns at rest — just to maintain basic functions like breathing and circulation. It gives you a personalized snapshot of your metabolism, helping guide nutrition, weight loss, or performance strategies more effectively.
Instructions: RMR tests are performed at the same time the VO2 Max test. Please refer to those instructions to prepare for the RMR test.
